A Puggle Christmas

Hello furiends! I hope you all had a spectacular Christmas and that Santa Paws was good to you all! Santa Paws brought me lots of cool stuff! New stuffies, new bones, some yummy treats. The day was full of excitement and I really was exhausted after all the pressies were opened!

This is a cool frame my Auntie Sheila got me! BOL! Pretty Funny huh?

This is one of my new stuffie bones......as you can see it makes a nice pillow as well! BOL!

Yep, this is how I spent the rest of my evening. Some may think I am lazy, but I just like to get comfy, that's all! And comfy on my back I was!
Merry Christmas! I can't wait to share 2010 with all of you!

Saving Summer

Saving Summer- a special segment brought to you today by PNN (Puggle News Network)

Last night while out for his nightly walk, Bruschi heard that there was a dog lost in the neighborhood and he immediately sprang into action. Him and his Mommy stayed on foot patrol, while Daddy ran home, jumped in the car, and searched the surrounding areas by car. Several of the other neighbors heard what was going on, and also jumped in their cars to search. The missing dog: Summer, a fawn greyhound.

PNN Reporter: So Bruschi, how did the search begin?

Bruschi: Well, while I was out for my nightly walk with the humans, a guy pulled up FRANTIC asking if we had seen his dog Summer. He informed us that she was a very friendly greyhound named Summer, loves cookies, and she escaped out their front door. He told us greyhounds have no sense of smell to be able to trace their way home, and they run very fast. Once I heard she loved cookies, I thought to myself, so do I! I must find her! So me and Mommy went out on foot patrol.

PNN Reporter: How did you think you would find her at night in the dark?

Bruschi: You're right, it was very dark out, but I am half beagle remember, so I just have to follow my nose!

PNN Reporter: How did you find her? How long did it take you? Had you given up hope at any point?

Bruschi: Well, Mommy and I had been on foot for about 20 minutes. We almost turned one direction, but I made a decision to keep on going down the hill, and then we spotted her! She almost looked like a deer!! Mommy shouted "Summer!! Summer!!" Her ears perked up....and then she darted across the street. Mommy called Daddy on the cell phone and told her we spotted Summer! At the same time she hung up the phone.....Summer spotted me!!! She stopped running, and froze on someone's front lawn! Mommy kept asking her if she wanted a cookie......while I made my approach. She saw me and instantly her tail started wagging. I was whimpering trying to get to her...I knew she needed my help! She darted towards me to play and in that same instant, Mommy grabbed her collar.

PNN Reporter: Wow, nice work Bruschi!!

Bruschi: Why thank you! I was quite proud of my little puggle self. I mean, Mommy is the one who spotted Summer, but I truly believe that if she hadn't of seen me, she would have kept running. She saw me and just couldn't resist! BOL! So Daddy came around the corner, helped Mommy call the owner, and we got Summer and her owners happily reunited. I did my good deed for the day!

PNN Reporter: Amazing Bruschi, simply amazing. Did anyone ever tell you that you were a hero?

Bruschi: It wouldn't surprise me if someone thought I was a hero.....My Firefighter Daddy is a hero, so it's in my blood I guess. I will always remember this day.....the day I saved Summer!

Busy Busy and Chilly Chilly!

Hi there! It has been in the 40's here in Florida this weekend so I got to wear my new coat!

What do you think? Pretty stylish if I do say so myself! BOL! The only thing is the coat is a little long for me so I dribble a little tinkle on it! BOL!

It's been so cold I've even had to wear my pj's around the house! Turn on the damn heat will ya!

Oh, this is our Christmas Tree!! Christmas Tree can only mean one thing......Santa Paws! And with Santa Paws comes Pressies! and LOTS of them! The humans have been doing a lot of shopping this weekend and I stumbled upon this......

A HUGE stash of doggy treats and stuffies! Mommy found me in the guest bedroom standing on my hind legs to check out the goodies so she just had to snap this picture. I go in this room and cry constantly....so now the door is CLOSED! I guess I'll just have to be patient.....

Ooops!

Ok it is not what it looks like! I didn't tear apart anything! Really!
I had a little accident and threw up a little on the brown couch, so Mommy had to take all the padding and stuffing out so she could wash all the covers. While she was busy washing my mess, I found myself right at home in this big pile of stuffing! BOL! I wonder if this is what snow is like????

Wacky Walk'r!

Today a very cool package arrived in the mail for yours truly! It is my new leash....
Wacky Walk'r!
This is the Urban walker....in silver.....Mommy thought silver was more manly. It works by restricting any pulling, and if I do see a squirrel or another doggy and try to pull, the tension only stretches the band....and Mommy does not get pulled at all!

(Bruschi's mom here: I absolutely love this! We tried it out tonight and it is so comfortable to hold, and if he does tug a little, there is so much tension on this that he hardly gets anywhere, and I don't feel a thing! This Urban one is 1.5 feet in length according to the website, but actually it is a bit longer.....the rubber part is 1.5 feet. It is a perfect length for keeping him close by while walking but allowing him a little sniffing room!)

Ok mom, enough of your blabbering! Let's take this thing for another walk! BOL!

GIANT Stuffie!

Look at this Giant Stuffie Mommy pulled out of the closet! I can't believe she has been hiding this from me! She says it's not for me but whatever.....I mean, what is SHE going to do with it?

I'll show ya what I will do with it! Take THAT punch in the eye Giant Stuffie! I am not afraid of you!

I've got him by his big rosy cheek!

And he's down......1......2......3.......Ding Ding Ding! Bruschi wins the match!

Dreadful News!

I can not believe this is happening to me! I went to the vet today for my annual checkup. I was really excited to go because all of the staff there love me and think I am just the CUTEST (bol). Well, you can imagine my horror when they put me on this scale. Can you read the number? Look at the picture closely...

Oh that's right furiends; 37 POUNDS! OMD! I am a fatty! The vet was not pleased! Mommy told him how I eat only 2 cups of food a day, and walk at least 4-5 miles a day, not to mention my food is reduced fat, gluten free and grain free!! So the vet said that I need to lose SEVEN pounds!!!!!! And told Mommy I am only to eat ONE cup of food a day! Can you believe it?! ONE cup? I am going to starve to death! This is so unfair! I eat so healthy and exercise so much...there must be some explanation for all of this! All I know is I am NOT a happy puggle at the moment! Mommy dragged me out on a super long walk tonight and fed me half a cup of kibble. No wonder I am still hungry! How am I going to lose 7 pounds?! Any suggestions from my skinny furiends?

A Puggle Vacation

Oh boy! A puggle vacation! I am packed and ready! Where are we going?

Here I am with my family heading to this vacation place.......are we there yet??

We reached our destination! Vero Beach Hotel and Spa!
Daddy chose to take us here for Mommy's birthday and because it is a pet friendly resort! Sadly, after checking in, we found out that the website was inaccurate and that there are NO doggy beaches in the area at all! Mommy was very angry at the people in the hotel lobby and told them we would now only be staying one night, seeing there was no where I could go to have any fun! The hotel was great, but it would have been better if the pets could actually go places on the resort!

Well as you can see, I made myself right at home here. We had a suite, so there was plenty of rooms for me to investigate, as well as 2 balcony's!

Ok, let the humiliation begin! BOL! Here I am in my vacation wear! What do you think? Do I look like I am on vacation or what!

So what did I do on my vacation you ask? Well here are a few pictures of my trip:

Well I took several strolls along the ocean strip....so much to see and sniff!

Stopped to take pictures for the Pup-a-razzi!

Went to this place called "Cravings" and got a bowl of ice cream! Yummy!

Oh and I took a cool bath after a long day in the hot sun! I can't believe I am posting this picture of me in the tub! BOL!

And after a very long busy day, I went to sleep in this giant King sized bed that felt like laying in a huge pile of marshmallows! What more could a puggle ask for!

Friday Firsts

Today Mommy was thinking about many of my "Firsts". Mainly because I am going to be going on my First Vacation next week! (you'll all hear about that later)
But in honor of my "Firsts", I thought I 'd share with you a few pictures.

This is my FIRST Car Ride! This is the day Mommy and Daddy picked me up at the airport. I was so sleepy, I really don't remember the car ride experience.

This is my FIRST Bath! I was so little that they actually bathed me in the kitchen sink! Now I am such a big boy that I go in the shower! BOL!

This FIRST I surely remember! It was my FIRST Snow Cone from the Ice Cream Truck! BOL! I heard that thing coming and I had never seen a truck with all sorts of music coming out of it! So Daddy flagged the truck down, I THOUGHT to go tell him to turn that silly music off, but instead, he came back with a Snow Cone! And boy was it deeeeelicious!

And coming soon.......my FIRST VACATION! I don't know what a Vacation is but Mommy has the suitcases out and she even packed a special bag full of my clothes, food, treats, favorite stuffie, a bone, and my blue blanky! Where could we be going?! I am getting excited!

Farewell to a Friend

RIP Ogie
Ogie was a huge part of a family friend's life for 16 years! That's right, Ogie lived to see his
Sweet 16th Birthday!

Unfortunately with age, comes illness. Ogie fought to live as long as he could until he knew it was time for him to go. He managed to see his Mommy turn 40 this year, just last month! Him and his mommy Ciara, were best friends! They did everything together and went everywhere together. Sadly, on Wednesday night, Ogie took a turn for the worst. Ciara knew it was time. Ogie had lived a long and happy life. Ciara did what was best for Ogie on October 1st, and let Ogie go to sleep. RIP Ogie. You will be missed by many. You will remain forever in our hearts.

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,

Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.

Where the friends of man and woman do run,

When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,

Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.

On this golden land, they wait and they play,

Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,

For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.

Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,

Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,

Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.

All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,

Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;

Together again, both person and pet.

So they run to each other, these friends from long past,

The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,

Has turned into joy once more in each heart.

They embrace with a love that will last forever,

And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

Do you know the Muffin Man?

Do you know the Muffin Man?
Well if you don't allow me to introduce MYSELF!
Mommy has lost it....see this stuff........
This is called PET HEAD. It is a waterless dog shampoo for in between baths. So not only do I take weekly baths, now I have to take baths in between baths! GEEZ!

And the scent......is BLUEBERRY MUFFIN! Hence why I am the Muffin Man! Why must I smell like a breakfast item Mommy?!

Luckily for me, it is a very quick "procedure." Just a few quick sprays, a wipe down with a towel, and I am ready to be served with morning coffee ! BOL!

Oh boy, here she comes with that stuff again.....

Funny Greeting Card

I just wanted to share a funny card that Mommy saw in Target this weekend.

On the front was a picture of a dog and it said:

"From the dog; I love you for everything you are, and for the one thing you are not."

And on the inside it says:

MICHAEL VICK!

HAHHAHAHA BOL!

Hopper in the Hopper!!

So Mommy woke up this morning to find this!!!! A Hopper in our Hopper! BOL (that's what I call froggies) Can you even believe it?! He was just hanging out, taking a dip in the pool! I know that the word on the street is that I've got quite the life going here and I am sure all the animals wish they were as lucky as me, but come on! Crawling up septic tank pipes and breaking into our house through the toilet?! Now that is just desperate Mr. Hopper!

And NO, we did not flush him. Mommy made Daddy get out of bed and scoop him up with a cup, then release him into the yard!

Onto other things.......Sargent's bowl arrived today from Mr. Puggle!!!
It is such a pawesome bowl! I can't wait to give it to him!

Mommy decided to pick up a few other items at the Pet Supermarket today to bring to Sargent with the bowl! I am VERY jealous! That lion toy looks like so much fun! I hope Sargent likes all his new toys!

A Second chance for Sargent

I'd like you to all meet Sargent. Sargent is a starved great dane who was rescued by a local Pet rescue here in Florida, Pet Rescue By Judy. When Mommy and I read his story and saw this horrible picture, we knew we had to do something to help him! Mommy sent some money his way, but then when I won Mr.Puggle's 200th post blog contest I knew I had to donate my winning bowl to Sargent!

Mommy has been in contact with Sargent's foster Mommy named Hope (how appropriate), and she sent us this wonderful picture of Sargent who is now doing so well and gaining weight and gaining his life back! Isn't he so handsome! I am so happy that he has been given a second chance at life! I wish every dog out there was as lucky as Sargent!

And yet more exciting news.......when the bowl arrives from Mr. Puggle, Mommy and I are going to go meet Hope and Sargent in person to give him his bowl! I can't wait!
