Dreadful News!

I can not believe this is happening to me! I went to the vet today for my annual checkup. I was really excited to go because all of the staff there love me and think I am just the CUTEST (bol). Well, you can imagine my horror when they put me on this scale. Can you read the number? Look at the picture closely...

Oh that's right furiends; 37 POUNDS! OMD! I am a fatty! The vet was not pleased! Mommy told him how I eat only 2 cups of food a day, and walk at least 4-5 miles a day, not to mention my food is reduced fat, gluten free and grain free!! So the vet said that I need to lose SEVEN pounds!!!!!! And told Mommy I am only to eat ONE cup of food a day! Can you believe it?! ONE cup? I am going to starve to death! This is so unfair! I eat so healthy and exercise so much...there must be some explanation for all of this! All I know is I am NOT a happy puggle at the moment! Mommy dragged me out on a super long walk tonight and fed me half a cup of kibble. No wonder I am still hungry! How am I going to lose 7 pounds?! Any suggestions from my skinny furiends?

I have the same problem Bruschi. Every vet I've ever been to says I'm fat. I don't eat that much and take at least 2 walks every day. Life isn't fair. And I'm ALWAYS hungry.

Hi Bruschi,

Oh no! Not the dreaded d-i-e-t. I don't know what you could do to lose seven pounds without starving yourself. Maybe your mom can find some zero calorie snacks. If she does, let me know cause my mom would be wanting to get herself some of that. BOL

oh no! you sure the vet's scale is not broken? (I heard my parents screamed about broken scale all the time after they weighted themselves). You don't look like you are 37lb. Last time mommy weighted me, I was 32 lb! so I am on diet to shed that extra 2 pounds too. Wonder why puggles got overweight so easily..it is not like we eat a lot (although we want to). Bummer! Good luck with your diet. it will be tough at the beginning. hang in there.

oh dawg. poor thing. 4-5 miles a day? what a lucky dog you are. i bet by slowly reducing the amount of food you will loose the weight. i only get one cup a day. i am sure you will be fine. :) puggles are always hungry. one cup or one entire bag won't matter. we always want to eat.

Bruschi,

I know how you feel. I'm always at a constant battle with my weight. I get to eat twice a day, each time only 4 oz plus one or two treats in between. My average weight is 22lbs, but my target weight is 20lbs, so I'm always on diet kibbles too! My Mama suggest getting the Cheese Pups Doggy Crackers...they are low calorie and low fat. Those are the treats I usually get.

Sorry to hear of the horrible DIET you have to do...I feel your pain!

Hugs,
CoCo

OMD! My weight use to be 36 lbs. then Granny took all the bad stuff away. Now I'm a slender 28 lbs. It helped so much to chase the kittie too. Snicker! Snicker!
Good Luck!

Poor Bruschi!!!

Did the vet check your thyroid? If it's not too expensive you should ask for the Michigan Panel. My Mom one of her Afghans had a thyroid problem and had to take meds.
